Egg Nog Ice Cream

The kids had the day off from school so we decided to fill our day up with fun activities using CLUB DAY (an earlier Sparkly Polliwog post). My oldest son chose "Cooking Club" and that's when we started to search the cabinets and recipe box for something to make. Being that it was a Monday and is my food shopping day, the cupboards were pretty bare. But we did have our "wait all year" Egg nog drink staring us in the face.

That's when we remembered one of our old family favorite recipe to make our own ice cream. Not only does it call for very few ingredients, its a natural and fun way to make your own treat.
Ingredients/Supplies:
-1 gallon sized zip closer baggie
-1 quart sized zip closer baggie

-2 ice trays of ice
-4-6 tablespoons of salt
Food:
-1/2 cup of eggnog, milk, or almond milk
-1 1/2 tbsp sugar
-1/2 tsp vanilla (could use cocoa powder if want it chocolate)

Now all you do is mix all the food ingredients into the quart bag. Put the ice, salt and sealed food quart bag into the gallon bag. Close shut and shake it for 7-10 minutes until it firms up. Helps to cover it with hand towel bc it gets cold. Fun to take turns and let the kids shake and be part of the process.

That's it!!!! Its ready to eat! I sprinkled a little nutmeg on top and it was yummy!!!!!

 *only makes one serving.

Try it out and let us know if you have any good recipes to add !
